[holding answer 26 March 2012]: Table 1 shows the number of enrolments by adults (aged 24+) on level 3 and level 4 or above further education courses in England, by gender and sector subject area in 2010/11, the latest year for which final data are available.I have made data available in the Libraries of the House which show the number of enrolments by adults (aged 24+) on level 3 and level 4 or above further education courses in England, by gender and each general further education college in 2010/11, the latest year for which final data are available. These totals do not match those in Table 1 as only aims at general further education colleges are included.Information by sector subject area is only available for enrolments. One person can be enrolled on more than one course.<Table width="100%" summary="" cellspacing="3" cellpadding="3" border="0"><thead><tr><th>Table 1: Adult (aged 24+) enrolments on level 3 and level 4 or above further education courses by gender and sector subject area, 2010/11</th></tr></thead><TR><TD></TD><TD>Level</TD></TR><TR><TD>Sector subject area</TD><TD>Gender</TD><TD>Level 3</TD><TD>Level 4 or 5 higher</TD></TR><TR><TD>Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Care</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>2,200</TD><TD>70</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>2,040</TD><TD>80</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>4,230</TD><TD>150</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Arts, Media and Publishing</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>6,030</TD><TD>230</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>3,520</TD><TD>90</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>9,550</TD><TD>320</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Business, Administration and Law</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>28,540</TD><TD>6,740</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>15,740</TD><TD>2,850</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>44,280</TD><TD>9,590</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Construction, Planning and the Built Environment</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>510</TD><TD>60</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>13,960</TD><TD>810</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>14,460</TD><TD>870</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Education and Training</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>25,630</TD><TD>7,230</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>9,570</TD><TD>4,500</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>35,200</TD><TD>11,730</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>1,710</TD><TD>40</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>19,670</TD><TD>340</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>21,380</TD><TD>380</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Health, Public Services and Care</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>72,570</TD><TD>5,280</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>15,120</TD><TD>1,330</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>87,680</TD><TD>6,610</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>History, Philosophy and Theology</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>6,150</TD><TD>&mdash;</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>2,220</TD><TD>&mdash;</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>8,370</TD><TD>&mdash;</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Information and Communication Technology</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>2,610</TD><TD>20</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>3,650</TD><TD>70</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>6,260</TD><TD>90</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Languages, Literature and Culture</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>3,220</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>1,520</TD><TD>&mdash;</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>4,740</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Leisure, Travel and Tourism</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>1,580</TD><TD>30</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>2,690</TD><TD>100</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>4,270</TD><TD>140</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Preparation for Life and Work</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>830</TD><TD>90</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>770</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>1,600</TD><TD>100</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Retail and Commercial Enterprise</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>9,170</TD><TD>70</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>7,670</TD><TD>20</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>16,840</TD><TD>80</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Science and Mathematics</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>2,400</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>1,750</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>4,150</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Social Sciences</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>1,090</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>400</TD><TD>&mdash;</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>1,490</TD><TD>10</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Unknown</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>63,060</TD><TD>730</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>31,610</TD><TD>260</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>94,680</TD><TD>990</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD><TD></TD></TR><TR><TD>Total</TD><TD>Female</TD><TD>227,300</TD><TD>20,610</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Male</TD><TD>131,880</TD><TD>10,470</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD><TD>Total</TD><TD>359,200</TD><TD>31,100</TD></TR><tfoot><TR><td>Notes:</td></TR><TR><td>1.
