The project assisted people to understand their rights and entitlements through various activities including: production and dissemination of information materials and leaflets on the right to information; implementation of a training course for elected representatives and for civil society organisations; follow-up support to 50 members of Parliament plus local government officials; and organised 160 workshops with the public on their right to information. In addition, training and debates were conducted with schools, colleges and journalists in 64 districts. A national level convention on International Information was organised. The project also developed and disseminated a booklet on community radio to create broader access to information for poor communities.
