By early 2013, the Shelter, Sanitation Recovery and Resilience programme will have helped over 11,000 families in Satkhira district of Bangladesh to replace homes and sanitation facilities destroyed by persistent waterlogging. The new shelters and latrines are built to withstand future flooding so people can protect themselves, their animals and their belongings from dangerous flood waters.

This support is delivered by the NARRI consortium of non-Government organisations (the National Alliance for Response and Risk Reduction Initiative: Oxfam (lead agency), Action Aid, CARE, Concern Worldwide, Islamic Relief, and Solidarités).
|
