We cannot ignore Yemen, a fragile state with a rapidly deteriorating economy and instability on the rise. The Department for International Development (DFID) has committed £50 million in 2010-11 to help prevent State failure.The Secretary of State for International Development has commissioned a review of DFID's aid programmes to determine how we can achieve better value for money for the taxpayer and accelerate progress towards the Millennium Development Goals. Future support to Yemen will be determined as part of this review.
