<p>The funds which are awarded by the Manusher Jonno Foundation are given through an open and competitive process. Proposals are called for through the national daily newspapers and their websites. Proposals received are judged against criteria including relevance to programme objectives, results and benefits, innovation, scalability, financial management, sustainability and impact Selection is done jointly by management and the governing board of the Manusher Jonno Foundation.</p><p>The funding stream is audited by a Bangladeshi independent chartered accounting firm (affiliated with Ernst and Young), directly reporting to the chairman of the board. This is verified by a qualified auditor during the annual review process led by DFID. DFID also audits a random selection of grant recipients annually. Around 20% of grant recipients are covered in the process.</p> |
