The Government has a clear goal that nearly all cars and vans should be zero emission by 2050, and we want people across the UK to benefit from electric vehicles as soon as possible.

The Office for Low Emission Vehicles provides a range of grant support to make electric vehicle ownership more affordable. The plug-in car grant offers up to £4,500 off the cost of an eligible electric car, and there is similar financial support for other vehicles, including motorcycles, vans, taxis and buses. Vehicles are increasingly becoming available on the second-hand car market, which makes electric vehicles a viable option for many more people. For both new and second-hand electric vehicle owners there is grant support to help with the cost of a home chargepoint – including for those without off-street parking.

This support is offered regardless of household income and the data is not collected to undertake the analysis requested.
