All data controllers, including insurance companies are expected to comply with the data processing principles set out under the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).</p><p>The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is the independent body responsible for regulating and enforcing the DPA. The ICO has a wide range of powers to ensure compliance with the DPA.</p>
