<p>EU member states contribute to the EU budget as a whole and not to individual spending programmes within it. There are not, therefore, specific contributions made directly to Euratom, Joint Research Centres or the EU funding towards the ITER project.</p><p>The UK Government contributes to a number of separate programmes within the International Atomic Energy Agency. These include the Regular Budget (subscription), the Technical Cooperation Fund, the UK Support Programme to IAEA Safeguards and other voluntary contributions to the Nuclear Security Fund. Over the period from May 2010 these come to around £74 million.</p><p>The UK contributions to the OECD's Nuclear Energy Agency since May 2010 are just over £1.1 million, although these have significantly reduced since 2012 as costs are shared between the Government, Regulators and Industry.</p> |
