The Department for International Development (DFID) is supporting the provision of basic social services, creating jobs and income, improving governance, and helping Bangladesh adapt to climate change. Gender and aid effectiveness are key themes across the programme. DFID works closely with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department for Energy and Climate Change and other Government Departments on climate change and strengthening democracy in Bangladesh.
