<p>In monitoring the licensing objectives of the Gambling Act 2005, which include keeping crime out of gambling, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport looks to the Gambling Commission for advice. To ensure the licensing objectives are met the Commission places obligations on gambling operators and works closely with law enforcement agencies to tackle gambling-related crime such as corrupt sports betting and money laundering. Evidence to the Culture, Media and Sport Committee (as part of their 2012 report on the Gambling Act 2005, “A Bet Worth Taking”) indicated that gambling related crime is being controlled. The Committee concluded that the Gambling Act has not led to any significant change in the levels of crime and disorder associated with the gambling industry.</p>
