	answer text	There have been no discussions between the two Departments on regulations governing trade at motorway service areas.Department for Transport Circular 01/2008 sets out policy in relation to motorway service areas and other roadside facilities on motorways and trunk roads. I expect to launch a public consultation this summer on the replacement of this circular with new guidance, with the aim of deregulating the policy provisions in this area. All Government Departments will be consulted prior to this launch.
