	answer text	<p>The UK is committed to addressing violence against women and girls overseas. Gender Equality (encompassing LGBT rights, women's rights, and domestic violence) is a priority for the FCDO, including in Russia, and we continue to support civil society organisations working on gender-related issues. Impunity for attacks on journalists in Russia and Belarus remains a major problem. Journalists who seek to uncover issues like corruption are often faced with threats, violence and harassment. We continue to urge the Russian authorities to fully investigate these cases and ensure the safety of all activists and journalists, and have repeatedly called on the Belarusian authorities to release journalists who have been arbitrarily detained, and to hold to account those responsible for attacks on journalists.</p>
