	answer text	<p>Moving to 24-hour switching will be a staged approach. We expect to see switching times halved within the lifetime of this Parliament. Ofgem is currently working with industry to facilitate a process and timetable to move to switching to 24-hour switching in a way that does not result in significant additional costs to consumers or a less reliable system.</p>
