<p>Police vetting is carried out by forces in line with the College of Policing’s code of practice on vetting and authorised professional practice (APP) on vetting. Information and intelligence held on and in relation to police databases, including the Police Elimination Database, is a matter for individual police forces.</p><p>To help identify members of the police workforce who may warrant investigation due to allegations or intelligence, the National Police Chiefs’ Council has asked all forces to check their officers and staff against the Police National Database (PND).
