The Department for International Development (DFID) will cut core administration costs by a third over the next four years of the spending review 2010 (SR10).The key steps the Department plans to take are to:"(i) Drive efficiencies in back office functions;""(ii) Reduce consultancy costs;""(iii) Rationalise the floor space and increase rental opportunity for our London office;""(iv) Review our global footprint aligned with the Bilateral Aid Review;""(v) Drive efficiencies in travel, training and staff allowances costs; and""(vi) Reduce the number of senior civil servants."The Department's annual operational planning process will confirm details of how we will meet the savings target.
