As such, they are responsible for their own admissions decisions.</p><p> </p><p>We are aware that many universities already adopt contextual admissions practices, to widen access of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Office for Students has encouraged the use of contextual admissions and the Government supports such initiatives.</p>
