There are up to 50 local authorities that have public space protection orders (PSPOs) in place. Homeless and vulnerable people are routinely fined hundreds of pounds and sent to prison if caught repeatedly asking for money.
Local authorities were given strengthened powers by Theresa May in 2014. |
