<p>In India the Department for International Development is supporting the Government of Bihar to implement India's 2005 Domestic Violence Act and conduct new research on violence prevention; supporting the Government of Madhya Pradesh to implement a new ‘safe city’ approach in four cities; and funds Oxfam to implement anti-violence campaigns and provide victim support services, including women's centres in police stations. UK support for these programmes will finish by 2015.</p><p>From now on, the UK will provide no new financial grants to India. Plans for technical assistance programmes beyond 2015 will be finalised closer to the time.</p>
