<p>30 bidders have withdrawn from Rounds 1 and 2, allowing over £108 million to be recycled back into the RGF (including for Round 3). For a fund of this size these numbers are low; withdrawals also point to the robustness of the process, about which the NAO has been positive.</p><p>There are various reasons for withdrawals; for example, withdrawal of support from the parent company; inability to secure match funding; failure to get planning permission; and a change in market conditions. Listing the specific reason for each withdrawal may prejudice the future commercial interests of the company but all bids have been withdrawn because they are not going to deliver the benefits forecast in the bid.</p>
