answer text
The regulation of private pension products, providers and schemes is a matter for the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Pensions Regulator. However, the Treasury does engage regularly with these bodies on a variety of pensions issues, including on initiatives such as the FSA's Retail Distribution Review (RDR), which is currently examining the transparency and fairness of fees and charges across the financial advice landscape. The Treasury receives many letters from Members of Parliament and the public on a wide range of issues. Treasury Ministers and officials also have discussions with a wide variety of organisations in the public and private sectors as part of the process of policy development and delivery. As was the case with previous administrations, it is not the Government's practice to provide details of all such discussions or correspondence received.
