	answer text	<p>DECC estimates suggest that there has been almost £40 billion investment in the electricity sector overall (generation and networks) since 2010. We have not collected these data at a regional level.</p><p>However, DECC has collated announcements of planned investment in renewable electricity generation at a regional level. This indicates that, between January 2010 and September 2013, there was £17 million planned investment recorded for the west midlands region. I will be placing a copy of this database in the Libraries of the House.</p>
