<p>The cost of paying UK pensions to-those residing in a country with which the UK does not have a bilateral social security agreement covering the uprating of pensions, is estimated to be at around £700 million (per year) and rising. This figure is based on the current rate in the UK and covers all recipients residing outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland.</p>
