	answer text	<p>Data-matching is a key element of the Warm Home Discount scheme. This scheme, which DECC operates jointly with the Department for Work and Pensions, leads to the automatic payment of an electricity bill discount to over one million of the poorest pensioners. Participating energy suppliers can also use the results of data-matching under the Warm Home Discount to target delivery of energy efficiency support (for example under the Energy Company Obligation, ECO).</p><p>DECC also works closely with DWP in the operation of the ECO referrals system, which ensures that customers eligible for ECO support who contact the Energy Saving Advice Service are passed on to participating energy suppliers for a minimum package of assistance.</p>
