The Government is committed to ensuring that restorative justice is victim-focused, of a good quality and available at all stages of the criminal justice system across England and Wales. On 19 November we announced plans for at least £29 million recovered from offenders to help deliver RJ for victims over the coming three years. Much of this money will go to police and crime commissioners (PCCs).

I welcome efforts by police forces (including West Mercia and Warwickshire) to help deliver this vision and I expect PCCs to work closely with all relevant organisations at a local level to ensure that RJ is only delivered in appropriate circumstances and is safe and competent.
