	answer text	<p>The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) has advised that the expert panel convened by the Authority last considered the scientific and clinical evidence related to mitochondrial donation in 2016. At the time of publishing its report on 30 November 2016 it had not received any evidence from Dr Valery Zukin or his team in Ukraine. The HFEA has made no consideration of Dr Zukin’s argument that there should be clinical trials of the procedure.</p>
