<p>In the period leading up to the publication of the Net Zero Strategy, there were numerous cross-government discussions, including on air quality, reflecting the contribution that every sector of the UK economy needs to make to climate change mitigation.</p><p> </p><p>As set out in the Strategy, the Government will pursue options that leave the environment in a better state for the next generation by improving biodiversity, air quality, water quality, natural capital, and resilience to climate change where appropriate.</p><p> </p><p>Air quality policy is led by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero continues to engage regularly with Defra on a range of issues relating to improving air quality.</p> |
