<p>HM Treasury fully complies with EU procurement directives and awards contracts on the basis of the best value for money for the taxpayer. Nevertheless, we have encouraged contractors to commit to paying a living wage and expect all employers to pay at least the national minimum wage.</p><p>Government has encouraged contractors by publicly expressing support to paying the London living wage where it is possible to do so.</p><p>The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is undertaking a review of zero hours policy and practice and in the light of this work the Cabinet Office will determine whether any changes need to be made to UK procurement policy. HM Treasury will comply with any Government policy that may be implemented and promoted post this review.</p>
