An Oral Question is a parliamentary question that is put to a government minister in person by an MP or member of the House of Lords in the Chamber of each House. Oral question times to ministers normally take place at the beginning of each sitting day in both Houses on Mondays to Thursdays. |

|
Oral questions in the Lords have only been tabled once to do with the negotiation stage of a treaty. However, a question could occur at any stage of a treaty's procedural life in the House. If another arises, the step label may change to something more general. |
