	answer text	<p>There are a number of measures by which the Department monitors and evaluates initial teacher training (ITT), including trainees on the School Direct scheme. These include the number and quality of trainees; success rates; and progression into employment. The Department also surveys the views of trainees. All data are published regularly on the Department's website. In addition, Ofsted inspects ITT providers and publishes its reports.</p>
