<p>Obesity is a complex public health issue, and the causes are multi-factorial, including biological, physiological, psycho-social, behavioural and environmental factors. These factors can impact upon and make it difficult for people to maintain energy balance and a healthy weight, and therefore impact trends in the level of obesity.</p><p>No recent assessment has been made, by the Department or the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, on the potential impact of prescribed medications that have a known side-effect of weight gain on trends in obesity.</p> |
