	answer text	<p>[holding answer 21 November 2013]: The Government is promoting the adoption of domestic heat pumps via the Renewable Heat Incentive and the Renewable Heat Premium Payments schemes. The costs of these schemes are met from general public expenditure not from a consumer levy. The impact of these policies for the increased deployment of heat pumps is factored into the Government's overall assessment of the investment required in the electricity sector and the impacts this will have on future electricity prices and bills.</p>
