As set out in our recently published Resources and Waste Strategy, we want the UK to be a world leader in resource efficiency. We want to move away from being a ‘throw-away’ society. We will use similar mechanisms to the current system to drive change in product standards by gradually removing from the market the least repairable products and demanding a certain level of repairability and looking to cover more product groups than those in the EU Ecodesign Directive.
