<p>The Government will continue to monitor the situation and any new emerging scientific evidence on the consumption of energy drinks to determine whether any changes to our advice are required. Our current advice is that children, or other people sensitive to caffeine, should only consume caffeine in moderation.</p><p> </p><p>It is already a requirement that drinks other than tea and coffee that contain more than 150mg of caffeine per litre are labelled as “not recommended for children”. In addition, many large food and drink retailers, including most supermarkets, have already implemented a voluntary ban on the sale of energy drinks to under-16s.</p>
