	answer text	<p>Consumers will get the best deals when suppliers face tough competition and that is what both the Government and Ofgem are working to achieve.</p><p>The Government is using the Energy Bill to give statutory backing to Ofgem's Retail Market Review measures which will ensure that energy companies place consumers on the cheapest tariff that meets their preferences and gives consumers clearer information so that they can more easily shop around.</p>
