<p>The Department has not made an assessment of the effectiveness of Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) for deaf children or the adequacy of the accessibility of AVT for deaf children on the National Health Service.</p><p>Commissioning of hearing services takes place at a local level based on the needs of the local population.
