answer text
Any motorist irrespective of age must have statutory minimum third party insurance cover. Motor insurers are responsible for setting the terms and conditions of the policies that they offer and it is for them to decide the level of risk that they take in issuing a policy. A driver's age is one of the factors that insurers can take into account. We would not wish to introduce any measures that would discourage elderly drivers from obtaining insurance.
