<p>The Minister of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, my right hon. Friend the Member for Sevenoaks (Michael Fallon), has met with the Minister for Government Policy, my right hon. Friend the Member for West Dorset (Mr Letwin) to assess the resilience of the energy sector, including substations, to a range of risks, including river and coastal flooding.</p><p>Officials from DECC are working with officials from other Government Departments, including DEFRA and the Environment Agency, to undertake a review of the resilience of energy assets, including key substations, to a coastal flooding event on the east coast. The review will identify if any critical energy assets which are vulnerable to coastal flooding and, where necessary, consider appropriate measures to ensure that such assets are adequately protected.</p> |
