<p>The Government shares the deep concerns of other member states regarding the continuing humanitarian crisis in Syria. However, the Government has no current plans to resettle Syrian refugees. We continue</p><p><?notus-xml column=223?></p><p>to believe that the EU's immediate priority should be to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced people in partnership with neighbouring countries and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The UK has now increased its pledge for the Syrian relief effort to £500 million. This represents the UK's largest ever response to a humanitarian crisis.</p><p>We continue to discuss the Syrian crisis with our European partners and the Minister for Security reiterated our position at the recent Justice and Home Affairs Council on 8 October.</p>
