HC Deb 16 September 2004 vol 424 c1702WS
Mr. Rosindell

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what estimate she has made of the amount of revenue generated by tourism related to the royal family in summer 2004.[189204]

Mr. Caborn

No estimate is made of the amount of revenue generated by the royal family in relation to tourism. The royal family and its heritage is a major factor in attracting visitors to Britain. They are a key part of Britain's successful tourism industry which is worth £76 billion to the economy. The royal family is very supportive of the tourism industry and their commitment will continue to bring great economic benefits to Britain.
