§ Mr. Mike O'BrienThe Government last week published a consultation paper proposing a number of detailed changes to improve its operation. These include increasing the level of the obligation in the period between 2010–11 and 2015–16. Following the current consultation, the Government plan to lay an order before Parliament early next year.

§ Mr. Mike O'BrienRenewable energy will make a significant contribution to our energy mix. We have a target for 10 per cent. of our electricity to come from renewable sources by 2010, and our aspiration is to have 20 per cent. of electricity from renewables by 2020.
