§ Keith HillAll of the nine pathfinder areas have been allocated £2.66 million for preparation of a strategic scheme and where considered by the pathfinder appropriate some early projects.
110WSBirmingham Sandwell, East Lancashire, Oldham Rochdale, Merseyside, NewcastleGateshead, North Staffordshire, and South Yorkshire have been allocated £4 million to begin action on the ground ahead of scheme agreement.
Manchester Salford is the first pathfinder to complete and agree their strategic scheme. They have been awarded £125 million over the next two and a half years to implement its scheme.
Further funding for other pathfinders will be negotiated on completion of their scheme.
