§ The Minister for Citizenship and Immigration (Beverley Hughes)An Order under Section 71C of the Race Relations Act 1976 (as amended) has today been laid before Parliament. The Order brings into effect, the Code of Practice on the duty to promote race equality in Scotland. It offers practical guidance to Scottish public authorities on how to meet their duty to have due regard to the need to eliminate unlawful racial discrimination and promote race equality and related duties.
The Statutory Code of practice on the duty to promote race equality in Scotland will come into effect on 19 December 2002.
