§ The Minister of State, Home Office (Baroness Scotland of Asthal)We have no plans to privatise the Prison Service or the National Probation Service. Contestability is the principle of improving quality and value for money through opening up to competition the delivery of custodial and community services for offenders. We shall make further announcements in due course.
