HL Deb 31 January 2005 vol 669 cc18-9WA
Lord Fearn

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether financial help has been given to any areas of England and Wales where local authorities seek to preserve prehistoric footprints such as those found on the beach at Formby in Merseyside. [HL819]

Lord McIntosh of Haringey

In England it is for local authorities to allocate their resources as they deem appropriate, in order to reflect local needs as well as providing effective stewardship for their historic environment.

In Wales this is a matter for the devolved administration.
