How much funding per head of the population they propose for the Northern Ireland Arts Council; and how that figure compares with the current allocation to the Arts Council of England. [HL870]

In the financial year 2005–06 the amount of government funding allocated per head of population to the Arts Council of Northern Ireland will be £6.32 and to the Arts Council of England £8.27.
Funding for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland does not include government funding for arts and business, which in England is delegated to the Arts Council of England. Adjusting for this discrepancy gives a figure of £6.58 per head of population in Northern Ireland.
