§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Education and Skills (Lord Filkin)In the five years 1999–00 to 2003–04, the HSE received reports of 17 injuries to staff from violence involving knives in schools in England and Wales: seven in 1999–00, 10 in 2000–01, and none in each of the remaining three years. The HSE tells employers not to report incidents of violence affecting non-employees, including pupils.
