§ Baroness Symons of Vernham DeanOur permanent representative to the United Nations in New York deposited the UK's instrument of accession to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women Optional Protocol with the United Nations Secretary-General on 17 December. The optional protocol will enter into force in the UK three months after this date.
