HL Deb 24 February 2005 vol 669 c232WA
Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why the consultation period on the Supply of Extended Warranties on Domestic Electrical Goods Order 2005 (S.I.2005/37) was only one month long and ended on 20 December 2004. [HL1218]

Lord Sainsbury of Turville

The Government held two rounds of public consultation on the Supply of Extended Warranties on Domestic Electrical Goods Order 2005. The first period ran for 12 weeks from 28 July 2004 to 22 October 2004. The Government then revised the order after reviewing the representations received. The second round of consultation was a supplementary one and therefore ran for a shorter timescale of 30 days, from 18 November 2004 to 20 December 2004.
