§ The Prime MinisterHer Majesty the Queen may, on the advice of Ministers, cancel membership of any of the Orders of Knighthood or appointment as Knight Bachelor. Cancellation is considered in cases where the retention of the appointment or award would bring the honours system into disrepute. Proposals for forfeiture are considered on a case-by-case basis.
