The Department has secured funding to enable this pilot scheme to continue in 2004–05, and for the scheme to be extended within the Health Action Zone areas to enable some new ideas to be tested this year. A final evaluation of the pilot scheme will take place in 2004–05. The outcome of this, together with work being taken forward by Fit Futures, the Taskforce on Obesity in Children and Young People and the development of a new Food and Nutrition Strategy, will help inform future decisions about the scheme.
